I must say that my new iPhone 3G truly is the "one phone" when it comes to procrastination! Twice as fast, half the price and about FOUR TIMES the distraction! I have been a PC guy since about 1990 but I am seriously thinking of updating my wardrobe and becoming a Mac!Since I have purchased this phone I have
I must say it is far superior in many ways to my old Treo 750 that I am selling on eBay, but it is not perfect. My Treo had a keyboard which was nice and there is more software (medical) for it available (but probably not for long). The iphone Netter's flash cards is so superior to either the Treo version or the actual paper flash cards you buy in a store it is not funny. I am sad that the 5-Minute EM Consult and the 5-Minute Clinical Consult which I thought were available are actually "web apps" still, which does not work well when in a hospital without Wi-Fi, but I am told they are soon to be ready...
The screen is gorgeous, the typing is accurate with the auto-correction, the GPS works great, the camera is decent and all in all it is simple and user friendly. Now to get some studying done....

Dude, I totally hear you on this. One of my med students has one and is constantly showing us stuff from the internet or on his iPhone Epocrates - like pics of what a drug looks like so pts can identify them. Used that one today. I was jealous as hell.
The new ePocrates is only their first version too, the full "Essentials" version will be out soon. Also, Netter's Anatomy is a fabulous reference on the iPhone, especially for EM and Family Practice and places where you need quick basic references to anatomy or to show patients what they broke! I am bummed out about the lack of 5-Minute Consult books though. They are only out as "web apps" at this point which means you need internet. I turn my phone off in hospital often so waiting for the full "resident" version....
