Settling In

It seems time to write new posts has been in short supply. I am in Sacramento, California now and settling in to my new life. Today was the first day of residency orientation... learning the ropes of the computers and such. It was great to get together with all the new interns in EM today and afterwards we all went out for a beer at one of the local brew-pubs. My house is excellent and I spent the cool evening digging up back yard for the new raised bed garden I am putting in. Nothing like working in cool, moist soil with a shovel after a day of cerebral computer training. After a cool shower I read for an hour on the couch finishing the last Leif Enger novel, "So Brave, Young and Handsome". Very good, but not quite as good as his first novel I thought, "Peace Like a River", which was amazing. Still, a night "at home" in my new city that still feels like a vacation. I hope to write more as I start this new life, but now I am tired and the Human Resources office owns me for more training on benefits tomorrow at 7:30am. I have poste da few photos of my journey thus far if you are interested. At the usual Picasa Photo Albums link to the left....
